Although there have been movies set in the Bahamas, they usually fail to capture these islands. The essence of the Bahamas is in the cadence of the speech and the flow of conversation. Its the colourful characters that live here and the rhythm of the islands' music.
Loggerheads believes true Bahamian films will appeal to an internationl audience. What we are hoping to help establish, along with other local filmakers, is an island aesthetic that can shed new light on universal themes. |
