About Our Films

The BahamasWe are proud to say we have worked with and for some of the top environmental organizations in The Bahamas: the Bahamas National Trust, the Nature Conservancy, Friends of the Environment, and The Island School. Our film Andros, Living Off the Land and Sea, produced for The Nature Conservancy, was the winner of an Spirit of Independents Award at the 2011 Fort Lauderdale Film Festival.

We have also had the pleasure of working with many of the scientists who visit Abaco to do research (visit their blog to learn more) and the Antiquities, Monuments and Museums Corporation of The Bahamas related to their work on the Blue Holes of Abaco, sites that are yielding some of the top Caribbean flora and fauna artifacts.

Our films are a mixture of local wildlife and insightful interviews that help to shed light on Bahamian culture and what makes this group of islands so special.

Conch Salad TV

Loggerhead Productions provides much of the content for Conch Salad TV, a Bahamian online magazine that features a new video every two weeks. Visit the site to see the huge variety of videos, from underwater discoveries, nature, cooking, comedy and more. Here’s one of our favorites, Stephen Burrows: Portrait of a Sculptor

Lionfish Invasion

Our most recent documentary with Friends of the Environment, The Lionfish Invasion, was featured in the 2010 Bahamas International Film Festival and then shown on Conch Salad TV in December 2010/January 2011 in three installments.

Andros: Living Off the Land and Sea

The Nature Conservancy’s Caribbean Program asked us to travel the island of Andros to learn about its natural resources and how they were being used by the people who live there. From crabs to blue holes, diving to searching the flats for bonefish, we learned that it is a lovely and uniquely beautiful place with a lot to teach us about the future of The Bahamas. While there we were lucky enough to film a variety of birds including spoonbills, ibis and egrets.  The resulting film, Andros, Living Off the Land and Sea was the winner of an Spirit of Independents Award at the 2011 Fort Lauderdale Film Festival.
