Loggerhead Productions currently produces two television shows for the Bahamas Learning Channel: Gary the Explorer and Mad Science. The Bahamas Learning Channel airs on Bahamas Cable 12 on Tuesday and Thursday from 3 to 5 and ZNS, weekdays at 5:30.

Gary the Explorer is a fun filled, educational exploration of The Bahamas. In the first two seasons star Gary Richardson explores the main three ecosystems and their component parts. Later seasons of Gary focus more on his experiences out in the environment, learning from local experts or exploring on his own. He also talks about more complex issues such as the interdependence of all of the ecosystems, the importance of biodiversity and the impact of invasive species and unsustainable human habits.

Mad Science takes themes from the Bahamian science curriculum and demonstrates science experiments using household ingredients to illustrate those concepts. They aren’t just listening to someone talk about science, they actually get to do science. The show is hosted by Mad Melvin, played by Enzil Cooper, and is a colorful Bahamian interpretation of mad scientists from classic black and white Hollywood films of the 50s.
