Although there have been movies set in the Bahamas before, they usually miss the mark when it comes to capturing these islands. The essence of the Bahamas is in the way people talk and what they talk about. Its the colourful characters that live here and music that is true to the island rythym.

Loggerheads believes true Bahamian films will appeal to an internationl audience hungry for something tropical and unique. What we are hoping to help establish, along with other local filmakers, is an island aesthetic that can deal with universal themes.

Our second short will be shown at the 2007 Bahamas Internationl Film Fest. "Hold Your Man," is the amusing tale of a group of guys trying to enjoy an afternoon of dominoes away from the worries of wives and work. There game is interupted when two American girls show up, much to the joy of some players and the frustration of others. While one girl fends off an aggressively friendly Bahamian, the other one sits in and learns more about the game than anyone, including her, expects.
